The Stridde family home was built in 1877 with an Italianate style. Charles Stridde was in the flour milling business with A. H. F. Krueger. Charles' wife owned the flour milling property after Charles untimely death in 1877. Hattie Stridde, Charles' daughter, lived in the home her entire life, and following the death of her mother, rented out portions of the home as apartments. Hattie Stridde died in the home in 1930 and her funeral services were conducted by Charles Sorensen. In 1934, Charles F. A. Sorensen purchased the building from Hattie's husband and transformed it into Sorensen and Son’s Funeral Home. In the same year, Arthur J. Kessler graduated from the Goodman School of Embalming and started his career at the Sorensen and Son’s Funeral Home. In 1940, Kessler and his wife purchased the business and building from the Sorensen Family and in 1941, renamed the business the Kessler Funeral Home. With the help of his wife, Margaret, who was one of the first women licensed funeral directors in Wisconsin, they ran the business until 1972 when their son George Kessler took over. George Kessler graduated from the Wisconsin Institute of Mortuary Science in 1966. George Kessler retired in 2017 after 51 years of dedicated service. In August 2017, funeral director Patrick Fahrenkrug purchased the funeral home and in 2022 renamed it the Kessler-Fahrenkrug Funeral Home.
Kessler-Fahrenkrug Funeral Home continues to be a member of the Wisconsin Funeral Directors Association, the National Funeral Directors Association, and the Fox River Valley Funeral Directors Association.
